A Witch’s Holiday

©tammi hartley

A witch’s blood I have in me.
It’s Harvest time, so let me be.
The magic of the moon takes over,
Like a naughty midnight lover
Tied to nature with my scarves,
Into the earth, my spell I carve
Protect me from the rust of death,
That lingers on October’s breath
This is my time to be carefree —
For it’s what you call Halloween.
